About the Storyteller
Will Hornyak is a nationally recognized storyteller who performs at festivals, theatres, schools and colleges throughout the United States.
From Irish myths and Russian fairytales to Northwest tall tales and Mexican fables Will weaves a wide web of oral traditions into thoughtful, engaging, spell-binding performances. Not to be missed!

Chorus Chorus Chorus… TLAC Annual Fundraiser
The Trout Lake Arts Council presents an evening of family fun and music to benefit Trout Lake School's music program. October 20, 2024 from 4-5:30, peruse the auction and raffle items, enjoy the usual food and beverage options, and listen to music courtesy of Tony Fuentes and the Trout Lake Picking Circle. Come by the TLAC Photobooth and do a costume for a memorable photo op. Also, Trout Lake ArtSmart will have a mural for young people to help decorate. From 5:30-6:00, we will gather the little ones to listen to interactive storytelling. Lastly, from 6-7 after the raffle and auction winners are announced, join Lincoln Crockett in a large group sing-along. Don't worry if you don't know the song, we will be learning it together. We will round out the evening with a final door prize not to be missed.

Explore the Chromatic Universe of Mushroom Pigments, Paints & Inks
Learn how to coax a myriad of colors from mushrooms and extract their pigments to make paints and inks perfect for any artist. In class we will unlock the pigments of commonly found Pacific Northwest dye mushrooms. We will cover the lake making process which is a great way to extract pigment from dye baths, and convert the pigment into a solution for painting and printing. Learn the process of making inks and play with mixing pigments into paints by exploring different ways to mix, bind and apply the pigment with natural materials so you can continue your exploration in more depth on your own. Everyone will leave with their own mushroom ink and a mushroom painted bookmark.
